Mission Statement

The Mission of the Flipper Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the spiritual, social and physical development of all people

WMS – Beulah Hinton Women’s Missionary Society

The women’s missionary society is a ministry that provides services to those who are in need of comfort, shelter, clothing, food and encouragement.

We are involved in the community lending a helping hand, collecting toiletries, blankets, sheets, towels, shoes clothing, household goods, food and other items.

Our ministry assists in working every first Thursday at the homeless shelter.

The Beulah Hinton Women’s Missionary Society meets every first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm.

Identifying goals and objectives based on the churches mission, vision and goals.

There are also other activities, meetings, symposiums and workshops from our Connectional, Episcopal District, Conference level, and Area District Level.

Other services that we provide are mentoring our people to have healthy bodies, healthy minds, and living the word and scriptures of God.

YPD –Young People’s Division

The ministry promotes positively influencing the lives of participants toward countless decision-making opportunities in areas of self, family friends, school, community and church.

They are prepared for the work that God has in store for them. The African Methodist Episcopal Church has provided guidelines which include the Holy Bible, AME Doctrine and the new YPD Handbook to assist them with this task.

There is information that is available, tools for training them to have a successful, spiritual YPD program under Flipper Chapel AME Church’s leadership with resources, up-coming events, photos that we can share about our ministry.

The Young People’s Division is coordinated under the Women’s Missionary.

Meetings are held once every month.

We teach life skills such as reading, academic empowerment and financial literacy.

Lay Organization

Our local Lay Organization is responsible for the training its members in such areas as the love and appreciation of the history, traditions and principles of the Flipper Chapel African Methodist Church and the Connectional Church.

They also help in the programs of the local church, work with the assigned local church pastor in implementing the discipline and doctrine of the church,

Assist in the regular studying of God’s word thru Bible Study and Sunday School

Organizing the knowledge, skills and abilities from the members of our congregation thru organizational workshops and training,

Identifying goals and objectives based on the churches mission, vision and goals.

Flipper Chapel Local Lay Organization meets every month on the 3rd Monday night at 6:30 pm.

Members are encouraged to attend a local, district, conference, and Connectional Meetings and participate in the activities that are presented.

SOA – Sons of Allen

Just as steal sharpens steal, the Sons of Allen represent a group of Christian males that have joined in a ministry to help and encourage one another toward spiritual formation

This ministry fosters and promotes the placing of Christ at the head of their lives, family, work, community, academic and social development

This ministry develops present and future leaders for functioning as good citizens and stewards of the church.

This ministry has ongoing outreach efforts which include helping in community projects and gift baskets, working with the Homeless Shelter,

Promotes active participation in bible study, Sunday school, working with the youth of the church

Serving and assisting the elderly with parking and street crossing during special events, and other programs and ministries of the Flipper Chapel AME.

This ministry is ecumenical does not require its members to be members of the AME church
